We're not ones to blow our own trumpet but we are rightly proud of the press coverage, achievements and partnerships that have come our way since we launched. Check out the timeline below for our main highlights.
Going Going Bike goes live. Our Co-founder Andrew announces that we aim to be the online marketplace for all things bike. To celebrate the launch, we organised a world record attempt to link as many bikes in a daisy chain as was humanly possible. (And “Tom the Talking Bike” makes his first appearance).
We partner with Team Sky to host their Sky Rainforest Rescue charity auction on Going Going Bike. Items include Bradley Wiggins' Tour de France bike which raises over £15,000.
We help London Cycle Task Force arrest a bike thief. (Note to bike thieves: list stolen bikes on our site at your peril)
Going Going Bike named Bike Radar Website of the Week.
July 2011 (It was a good month!)
Team Sky once again chooses Going Going Bike to be their official auction provider for the Rainforest Rescue kit that is worn at that year’s Tour de France. Plus a few other special items like a place on the Team Sky training camp.
Brompton Bicycles announce that Going Going Bike is now their official online second-hand Brompton marketplace. Going Going Bike provides a secure online market for legitimately-owned second-hand Bromptons.
Going Going Bike nominated in the “Rising Star” category for the 2011 BikeBiz Awards.
Going Going Bike wins Green category in the Venture Candy (in association with Metro) business enterprise awards for exceptional start-ups.
Sky Ride sells Henry Holland cycling jacket exclusively through Going Going Bike and raises over £5,000 for British Cycling.
We prove how rubbish we are at bike theft in a series of “instructional” videos on how not to steal a bike.
Sky Ride again chooses Going Going Bike to sell Giles Deacon cycling bag exclusively.
We proudly launch our newly redesigned website offering added functionality and features. All feedback very welcome!
We’re excited to see what it brings…
