Join the Buskers on the Bike to Bestival

Bike to Bestival

We highlighted a week ago the move by the Latitude Festival to get people to bike to their festival via the Tour of Latitude, today we feature a similar ride to a music festival albeit on a less grander scale.

Starting in London on Tuesday 4th September, Dominic and Warren (aka Buskers on Bikes) will be cycling their way to the Bestival festival on the Isle of Man with the aim of getting to the festival by September 6th, the opening day of the festival.

Travelling band

Buskers on Bikes will be aiming to raise raising money for Cancer Research UK on their Bike to Bestival ride but are keen for others to join them on their ride, especially if people are going to the festival. Indeed, if you can play a musical instrument they’d really like you to join in. The idea being that the riders will be able to form a travelling band to bring musical cheer along the route and at the Bestival site itself.

The ride to the Bestival site is not expected to be taxing with each day’s riding being no more than 45 miles long. There will be support vehicles along the ride while at the Bestival site itself there will be a secure lock-up for bikes for people choosing to cycle to the Bestival site. Bike to Bestival also has the support of the organisers who are full behind what the boys are doing.

More info on ride

Dominic and Warren do advise they may be some costs associated with the ride but they are doing what they can to keep costs down. If you have any questions about the ride or want to register an initial interested in doing the Bike to Bestival/being a musician along part or all of the ride, contact the boys via biketobestival[at]bestival.net

Information packs about the ride for those who registered an interest already will be sent out soon. The boys also plan to have URL link for open registration to do the ride.
