This week’s ‘How To’ episode guide from the guys at Road Cycling UK and the Mpora.com bike network features advice on how to replace brake pads on a road bike
Brake pads get more than their fair share of wear and tear at the best of times, but add the grimy roads of winter to the equation, and it could be that a replacement set is required almost every six months. Jon Hayes, mechanic at independent bike shop, Ride, take us through the steps to replace a set of pads.
Jon demonstrates the importance of correct pad alignment, of tightening the grub screw that holds the pad into the shoe, and of making final adjustments to cable tension.
