Holiday in Vietnam up for grabs in GGB charity auctionShareThis
On Monday’s GGB blog, we updated you all with the current funds raised for our charity partner Cycle a Difference/Newborns Vietnam via our live auctions at the London Bike Show. So far the current total funds raised stands at £662. We hope very much to add to that with the online auction of a two person 10-day holiday in Vietnam that has kindly been donated to Cycle a Difference/Newborns Vietnam.
The Vietnamese holiday is a nine nights 10 day fully escorted tour of Vietnam plus one night at the Furama Resort in Danang for two people. The holiday package includes all accommodation and meals paid for. Flights to and from Vietnam are not included
The holiday starts in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city in the north of the country. There you will get to enjoy the city’s classical architecture, French colonial buildings, and Ho Chi Minh’s tomb. The old city still retains the character and charms of a by-gone era. While in the north, you will also make a trip to the wonder of Halong Bay, where a traditional Vietnamese boat will cruise you through its 3,000 islets.
From there you will travel down south to visit the ancient cities of Hue and Anh Hoi, each of them a World Heritage site, and then onwards to Ho Chi Minh City, with its more decedent faster paced lifestyle. You and your partner will then be taken to the Mekong Delta and My Tho, a world of rice fields, orchards, canals, where you will see the colourful floating markets of this region.
The icing on the cake of the holiday is a night at the luxurious Furama Resort in Da Nang. This resort is a 5-star haven on the world famous Da Nang beach. The night at the Furama Resort can be fitted in before the move to Ho Chi Minh City.
Holiday auction now live
The auction for this holiday of a lifetime is now live on our special Cycle a Difference/Newborns Vietnam charity auction webstore page and we encourage all to get bidding on the holiday.
The holiday auction will run for another 23 days so we hope the figure steadily rises as the bidding becomes more feverent (we have one bid in already!). Remember the proceeds of the winning bid go directly to purchasing lifesaving equipment for neonatal intensive care in Vietnam.
And there is more cycling goodies to be had
Apart from this fantastic holiday, we’re also going to put a number of items donated to us, up on online, to raise money for Cycle a Difference/Newborns Vietnam. This includes a number of the donated auction items that did not get to reserve price on either of the two days of the London Bike Show as well as items that have been reserved for the online auction only.
These items are:
- Bamboo Bike frame (donated by Bamboo Bikes)
- Kask helmets signed by Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins and Luke Rowe (donated by Velobrands)
- Michaux Club Bag (donated by The Michaux Club)
- Espresso Wheels Coaster wheelset (donated by Espresso Wheels)
- Photos of Chris Hoy, Danny Macaskill, Rob Warner which are signed by the riders themselves (donated by Crankphoto)
- Vim Denson signed photo – Vim was one of the first British riders to ride the Tour de France
- Cycling Posters from 100Copies
These items will be added to the Cycle a Difference/Newborns Vietnam auction webstore page over the coming days, while some items will be made available via a Sprint Auction. Make sure you keep on coming back to the webstore to see what items are being put up and of course make a bid.
All proceeds of the online Cycle a Difference/Newborns Vietnam charity auction will go directly to minimising neonatal mortality in Vietnam.
