Cycle on water?

ShareThis

Bike-on-water

Crossing a 75ft deep lake with a bicycle and pedalling on top of it? Seems to be a fishy story to us but this apparently took place a couple of days back on Lake Buttermere in Cumbria as the picture above shows.

This astonishing feat was completed by 16 year old Matt Whitehurst in a bid to raise money for the victims of Cumbria’s 2009 floods.

No trick

Matt told the Cumbrian News & Star that he would not reveal how he rode across the water and insisted there was no trick.

“I can’t and won’t reveal how I did it, but plenty of people saw me and they’ll confirm it wasn’t a camera trick. The photos are real.”

The publicity Matt will receive from the stunt will inevitably see him get requests to repeat the ride across the water. I think I will wait until I see see some video before making comment on this illusion.
