Bikepedia – bike bits explained

ShareThis

Peugeot-Bikepedia

What do the words ”hubs”, “rims”, “stem”, “dropbar” have in common? Give up? The answer is that they all appear within the description of a 1975 vintage Peugeot racer listed for sale on Going Going Bike and are technical words which might confuse or simply not be known by many people browsing the auctions.

Step forward Bikepedia. Going Going Bike’s cycling jargon buster which is on hand to guide you through the occasionally obtuse world of cycling. Bikepedia features on every auction listing page so you can quickly type in the word you want described without navigating away to another website or opening up your dictionary. The search results appear in a pop-up box on the screen so you remain with the item that you are reviewing.

Bikepedia is all about spreading knowledge and information on bikey bits. As a result we have allowed the content to be amended and updated by you. You can submit definitions for entries which are not yet covered and suggest amendments to existing definitions. The aim is that,  in the fulness of time, Bikepedia will be a powerful and useful tool for you to have your cycling related questions answered. It will take time but with baby-steps we will get there…why not help us now and submit an entry?
