Second hand and used bicycle buying guide
Beat the cold with a cycling jacket

As you’ve no doubt noticed the temperatures have well and truly dropped this week following the unseasonably warm weather in the earlier part of October. It seems that short sleeved rides are soon to be distant memories as we layer up and ride out in our cycling jackets until spring.
In my view a good windproof/rainproof cycling jacket or coat is a piece of cycling kit that every cyclist requires. And the good news is that we have a great range of cycling jackets in our webstores. All the jackets listed below are waterproof, windproof and breathable. They also provide high visibility with a good degree of reflectivity on each garment.
Proviz
For a super bright and visible cycle jacket we stock Proviz, which does a jacket with purpose fits for both men and women. The jacket comes in eye-catching day-glow fluorescent yellow with highly reflective trim on arms, sides and shoulders. For warmth and breathability, the jacket also has a fleece-lined collar with pit and back vents. There are both inside and back pockets on the garment to store keys or a wallet.
The jackets are available in a variety of sizes from small to XL for men and Sizes 10 to Sizes 16 for women.
Henry Holland for Sky Ride
For women out there who want something a bit more stylish, the Henry Holland cycle jackets for Sky Ride are still in stock. The design of the jacket incorporates a fun polka dot motif using reflective inks making the jacket highly visible. Made of waterproof rip-stop fabric, the jacket has a functional yet fashionable shape with a Peter Pan collar and some subtle, feminine rouching on the sleeves.
The cut is fitted around the shoulders with a more trapeze line in the body and a box pleat below the yolk in the back. Sizes of the cycling jacket available in our webstore include small/medium and medium/large.
The cycling raincoat
For something even more elegant, that women can wear on off and off the bike, the cycling raincoat is a great option. Both the Water off a Duck’s Back and Cambridge Raincoat Co. coats we stock offer different designs with their own distinctive appeal.
Water off a Duck’s Back has also recently launched a male waterproof coat. Like its female equivalent, the jacket features cuffs that fold down to reveal reflective strip and a collar that goes up to reveal reflective strip. The jacket also has a detachable hood.
