While snow fall in this country this winter appears to be a distant memory, in parts of Europe and the US flurries continue abound.

Clearing snow usually involves some petrol guzzling monstrosity, but there are bicycle inspired options out there, albeit it won’t really clear a motorway of snow.


The first is a snow plow tricycle built by US citizen and Milwaukeean resident Craig Smith. His tricycle features a plow that works with a rope and pulley. A  lever on the bike cantilevers a rope and pivot point so the plow locks in place. The plow blade is hinged with a bungee cord, so hitting a discrepancy in the road allows the blade to flop and give like a real plow.
