After the resounding success of last week’s Sprint Auction we have once again sourced you a fantastic bike. This week the focus shifts to Bikeworks a CIC who have been making waves helping homeless and disadvantaged Londoners.

Award winning Social Enterprise

The award-winning social enterprise uses cycling and bikes as a tool to achieve social, environmental and economic change at a local community level. Their ‘cycle to work’ initiative, of which they are most proud, is aimed at getting disadvantaged people into work in the cycling industry.

They fund projects like this one by selling new and refurbished bikes as well as accessories from their retail outlets and more recently from their webstore on Going Going Bike. The bike that they have put forward for the Sprint Auction is a fully refurbished Trek Navigator T30.

The Bike

It is a 2010 model and in really good condition. It has been fully serviced by a professional mechanic and has had new Tyres, Tubes, Brakepads, Chain and 7spd Freewheel. It also has had new cables which are replaced on all the bikes that come through the Bikeworks workshop.

The bike is perfect for commuting or for just riding about on a sunny afternoon, so don’t miss out! It can be used by a broad range of riders from 5’4″ – 6’1″ as it has an adjustable stem. We have also put it through our Prove it system as part of our ongoing battle with the Bike thief..

A new one is worth around £350 but on Friday the bidding will start at £5..
